Article 27 in the UNCRC says that every child has the right to an adequate standard of living. So on Friday 24th November 2017, 24 students and 8 members of staff braved the cold weather to sleep outside, to raise money for St. Basils Charity. St. Basils houses and supports young homeless people between the ages of 16 and 24 years old across the West Midlands.
The students’ enthusiasm made the Sleepout an enjoyable experience for all, and they demonstrated some of our outstanding learning qualities; such as collaboration, by working together to create shelters, using cardboard boxes and plastic sheets. We are very proud of our students and want to thank all of their parents for allowing them to have this experience.
