GCHQ visit to Saltley Academy

During the afternoon of Monday 8th July, 60 year 8 students from Saltley Academy had the amazing opportunity to learn about how the Government Communications Headquarters use languages to protect our country from cyberattacks, terrorism and more.
They had a taster of Arabic and they also had the opportunity to use their problem-solving, language and research skills to solve a scenario stopping cybercriminals from damaging critical infrastructure and extorting money to the UK. Our pupils were very excited and represented the academy impeccably, and we were very proud to be inspiring the next generation of linguists!
