Saltley Academy Community Unites to Fund Three Life-Changing Water Wells
As the Spring term came to a close and the final ten days of Ramadhan 2025 approached, Saltley Academy—alongside our local community—embarked on a powerful fundraising journey to raise awareness around global water sanitation issues and support those in urgent need of clean, safe water.
What began as an ambitious goal to fund two Deep Water Wells soon turned into something even greater. Driven by compassion, purpose, and unity, our pupils, staff, and supporters came together to take action—and their efforts have made a profound impact.
We are incredibly proud to announce that we have exceeded our target, raising a total of £2,809.07, which will now fund three Deep Water Wells—one each in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Nepal. This remarkable achievement will transform lives in drought-affected and under-resourced communities for years to come.
To put this into perspective: a Deep Water Well in a village in Pakistan will provide clean, safe water to over 100 people, improving health, hygiene, and quality of life.
This campaign was delivered in partnership with Human Appeal, a global humanitarian organisation that supports victims of natural disasters, conflict, and poverty through sustainable development projects in education, healthcare, and orphan welfare.
