I’m a ‘local boy’; having grown up in Small Heath, I attended Marlborough Primary and then Saltley Secondary School. I know the local area well and I am proud of my roots.  After leaving college, I secured a place at Greenwich University where I completed a degree in Applied Biology and this course also allowed me to travel abroad and live in Greece for a year working at Athens University.

As Deputy Headteacher,  I still love being in the classroom and take great pleasure in seeing pupils’ flourish. My focus is on creating innovative learning experiences that empower students to reach their full potential. I believe in the importance of collaboration, and I work closely with our school community to ensure every voice is heard and valued.

With responsibility for Key Stage 3, I relish the challenge of working with a great team of staff who work tirelessly to provide the highest standards of education to our young people.

Away from school, I enjoy reading, camping and spending quality time with my family and friends which enriches my perspective and informs my approach to education.
