Design and Technology

We offer an exciting broad diet of KS3 Design Technology projects, students can study Graphics, 3D Product design & Food Technology. Students will cover each discipline on rotation across KS3.
We encourage our young designers to investigate problems, how to resolve them, and how they can meet the needs of a client or user. Identify the design needs and develop a design brief.  Use a design cycle on how to use the iterative design process which centrally focuses on the user’s needs and how they can input their views & experiences. Study iconic designers that have shaped the world and help them understand how to integrate and use their design styles in their own work.

Students are encouraged to use a variety of materials and mediums to experiment, develop their flat work and final 3D models. Students will gain knowledge how to use range of sketching and 3D making skills to create their amazing design ideas into real 3D working models.


GCSE Art & Design (graphics) will aid our learners to develop knowledge and understanding relating to different Graphic design disciplines & specialism, products and job roles that form the Graphic products industry. Our learners will learn how to use Graphic communication sketching, final rendering techniques and CAD media to create digital media graphics which meet the needs of clients and consumers. Studying the work of iconic Graphic designers and their influences. Experiment with different Graphic styles & techniques. Understand how to rebrand cooperate logos and design nets, packages, posters to meet the needs of the consumer or clients.
